Rhea Malhotra's "The Better Option"
“This piece was created to bring the realization that we as a world-wide community have the power to choose which perspective we see and make a reality. The aim for this piece was to create such a jarring difference in perspective, that it shocks the viewer. There are two images, and the place at which you view determines what you see. The piece depicts both a healthy and vibrant coral reef, and the polluted and empty alternative. I created this so we can see what we are fighting to protect and preserve, and the damage and horrors of what can happen if we continue our pollution. This is specifically geared towards the damaging effects the climate crisis has on the oceans and focuses on marine life and what we stand to lose.”
