Amelia Silvestro's "Moment"

"Creating art from a place of emotion, creativity, and intuition has the ability to compel joy, tears, urgency. Throughout the creation of this film I explore and am inspired by the diverse natural world we are a part of and the interconnection of nature. Drawing on film as a visually powerful medium as well as a poetic instrument I aimed to evoke emotion and impart the message as a feeling rather than an instruction. I hope my film will call people to action in meaningful ways, inspiring them to seek new solutions and continue to address the impact of climate change in our communities. Many of the shots seen in this film I filmed over the course of the year, picking up my camera whenever I found something inspiring, compelling, or simply beautiful. I layered the film with moments of natural sounds to convey a sense of authenticity and my sister recorded the voice over as a reminder of the generations to come. At times the voices are overlaid in whisps and whispers; this message is coming from all of us and it is meant for all of us, we must all play a part in collectively making strides towards healing our earth."
